Create a runway-inspired look.

There was a futuristic feel throughout New York Fashion week this season.

And it wasn't just clothes getting the time-machine treatment.

Make-up was just as brilliant with sweeping metallics taking centre stage.

For Donna Karan's Fall/Winter 14 show, Charlotte Tilbury created a show-stopping silver smoky eye with charcoal lids and metallic grey shading in the inner corner of the eye.

We caught up with top make-up artist Georgia Hayes to discover how to create similarly fabulous silver peepers.

"I loved this look, the tonal silver and gunmetal shadows create a gorgeous depth on the eye," raves Georgia, who has worked her magic on countless models.

"My first choice for creating this look would be Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Phenomena, which is a bold, silver metallic."

But the good news is you don't need to spend a fortune to buy good quality metallic eye make-up.

"Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Silver is a brilliantly long-wearing colour that's really blendable too," recommends Georgia.

"Start off by using the pencil to line both the upper and lower lash lines and use a fine-tipped brush or even a cotton bud to blend this line out.

"Next take a larger eyeshadow brush to sweep on some Barry M Eyeshadow in Silver which is a gorgeously creamy pressed shadow.

"It comes in either matte or shimmer so you can decide how you're feeling on the day!

"Another handy palette for creating a Donna Karan inspired look is L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Incredible Grey which has a trio of colours that are perfect for blending," she adds.

To finish, Georgia advises adding couple of coats of your favourite mascara and hey presto you'll be runway ready in no time.
