Hollywood has crowned 2015's most influential stylists following a star-studded red carpet season that saw A-list stars from Emma Stone to Julianne Moore fight it out for a place on best-dressed lists.

But it was Stone’s stylist Petra Flannery who topped the list of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power Stylists 2015. This comes as no surprise after the Oscar-nominated actress secured a place in many best-dressed lists after she eschewed the black tie dress code and hit the red carpet in a Lanvin jumpsuit.

This was Flannery's favourite look too, she told The Hollywood Reporter: “It was daring to wear pants on a major red carpet like that.”

Flannery, whose client list also includes Gwen Stefani, Amy Adams and Mila Kunis, said: “I really try to individualise my clients… I concentrate on their particular fashion persona.”

Other stylists behind some of the most-lust worthy outfits who were also celebrated at last night's event included Leslie Fremar who styles both Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon - both Oscar-nominees.

She’s noted for Moore’s Chanel Haute Couture gown, which took 987 hours to make and featured 80,000 hand-painted sequins in blooms.

Felicity Jone’s stylist duo Karla Welch and Kemal Harris come in at number three, who in addition to styling the red carpet are also the brains behind Claire Underwood’s (played by Robin Wright) wardrobe in House of Cards Season 3.

Kate Young who is Sienna Miller and Dakota Johnson’s stylist, followed at fourth and last year’s number one, Cate Blanchett’s stylist Elizabeth Stewart, went down to sixth. She’s followed by Keira Knightley and Alexa Chung’s stylist Leith Clarke.

A notable new entry comes from the woman behind the Cinderella-style picks for actress Lily James as she promotes the Disney’s latest adaptation of the fairy tale.

With the dust settling on awards season for another year, it's not just the attendees who benefit from a best dressed mention, as demonstrated here it is the stylists behind the scenes who pull these looks together that are the real winners.

While the stars in the designer attires are the ones that shine on the red carpet, this event ensures the people behind the looks get their fair share of the credit too.
