Charli XCX thinks red lipstick is amazing at hiding red wine stained lips.

Charli XCX advises people to always carry red lipstick.

The British singer has become just as known for her fashion choices as she has her catchy pop tracks.

She's a regular at showbiz events and says her one bit of make-up advice is to always have a rouge lip colour to hand.

"Always carry red lipstick," Charli told Q magazine. "This only really works for girls, drag queens and David Bowie. It's a classic lifesaver. It's so chic and it makes everything feel that tiny bit better. Also red lipstick is genius because it hides red wine lips really well."

Charli recently showed her sultry side on the cover of Maxim magazine. Wearing a black bustier that shows off her cleavage, the star appears to hang upside down, with her hair flowing around her.

Her dark hair has also become one of her signature looks, and since finding fame the 22-year-old admits she spends more time on her mane - though she's still not really into pampering.

"Well, I brush my hair more - but still not a lot!" she previously laughed to Lucky magazine. "I also sometimes wear a pink lip instead of a red lip now. Style-wise, I think I've become more confident with my body and my femininity. My fashion's always been heavily inspired by the 90s, and that hasn't changed - it's still got that tough edge, but it's definitely more feminine now."
